Tundish Covering Materials

Steel ladle originally served only as transport vessel between melt shop and the pouring area but became a metallurgical reactor during past decade.

Tundish received less attention than ladle until recently. The main function of tundish , most often equipped with stopper , is the distribution of the liquid steel to the strands of continuous casting machine. The present state of the art does not yet permit (unlike ladle ) to be used as a metallurgical reaction vessel.

Now a days to ensure high demand on quality and steel cleanliness , a combined application of a metallurgical active slag based on calcium aluminates , and a basic insulating tundish cover as a double layer practice is used.

We have sio2 base and synthetic covering materials available for covering ladle and tundish to avoid temperature loss. Granulated form is also available.
